You'll see a lot of articles about the “best wood to laser cut.” I fell for that search query too. The truth is, for the F1 Ultra with a 20W diode, any hardwood cuts well—oak, maple, cherry, walnut. Softwoods like pine leave uneven burn marks because of resin pockets. My go-to is 3mm birch plywood. Consistent, affordable, and the contrast is beautiful.
